TFSA vs RRSP — which is better?
Choose TFSA if you expect to be in the same or higher tax bracket in retirement, or need flexible access to savings without tax on withdrawal.

Choose RRSP if you are in a high tax bracket now and expect lower income in retirement — the deduction saves you tax today and you pay a lower rate on withdrawal later.

Many Canadians benefit from contributing to both.
TFSA withdrawal rules
Withdrawals are completely tax-free at any time. The withdrawn amount is added back to your contribution room on January 1 of the following year. Re-contributing in the same calendar year without available room triggers a 1% per month penalty tax.
